The young woman portrayed in "Witness" is painted blue, white, and yellow, the colors of the sky on the morning of 9/11.
The title, "Epiphany," references the experience of St Francis as he exits the cave in Bellini's early Renaissance masterpiece.
The "Broken Man" transmits his mental anguish through colorful, physical, formal violence. He conveys the effects of tragedy on the human mind and the resulting disassembling and rearranging of our identities and perspectives.
